What are the pros and cons of the various research and planning strategies you used?
BLOGGER
Pros= Everyone can see and access the site, you can record steps and dates for different parts of filming and editing, you can embed videos and images, people can put feedback onto the site,
Cons=Can't take it with you when filming, cannot access at home if you don't have the internet, if you forget the password you can't edit it, bias infomation because its edited by everyday people, anyone can look (PEDOS!!) or make abusive comments,
YOUTUBE
Pros=Can search for anything you want, you can view other peoples videos, you can share your own videos, allows you to embed the videos on your own site, people can watch your video and post comments
Cons= Abusive comments, anyone can see your video, youtube can get rid of soundtrack, if you don' have interent you can't use it, copyright concerns, some videos can only be accessed if you are over 18.
INTERNET OVERALL
Pros= Can go on google and find anything you want, sites all over the world, can vied other peoples work
Cons= Might have to sign up to some sites (personal details), at risk of viruses, too varied, bias, may not be correct informaton on some sites for example wikipedia.
STORYBOARDS AND TIMELINES
Pros= you can take it with you to filming and home, you can correct (add stuff in rub stuff out), Brainstorm ideas with group, allows you to see what it may look like.
Cons= Ideas may change, might not be very accurate (time lines), might not be good at drawing, could loose it.
ANIMATIC
Pros= It is moving so you can see what it looks like, you can get the timing right, you can edit it on final cut, you can add sound, allows you to post on blogger.
Cons= They don't look very good, drawings may be hard to understand, time consuming, might not be accurate.

Essay Plan- question 1
How has your understanding of real media conventions developed over the last two years?
Introduction - Explain what we have done over the last two years (Thriller opening sequence, opening sequence and Music Video). Give a brief explanation about conventions (e.g. Editing) and explain why it is important that we have this knowledge.
Paragraph 1 - This paragraph will include examples of how we gathered knowledge about how and where conventions we used, for example vertigo film opening has; a crime at the core of the narrative (often murder, but not necessarily), a complex narrative structure, with false paths, clues and resolutions, a narrative pattern of establishing enigmas which the viewer expects to be resolved (From blog from Tanya) etc
Paragraph 2 - While planning we thought about the different thriller conventions needed to create a successful opening of our own =WHAT MAKES A THRILLER??
Paragraph 3 - How we applied conventions to our narrative, shots and editing e.g. random shots and muddled editing to hide the identity of character and their location and give an uneasy atmosphere
Conclusion- How conventions helped us to create an effective film opening and why?? -audience can identify that its a thriller, mystery keeps them watching,
